Change and Cancellation of Itinerary by Us
We commit to making every effort to operate the trips as advertised; however, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary.
Please also note that during certain holidays and peak periods or due to repairs or renovations, some activities may be disrupted or unavailable. Deviations from planned itineraries or any aspects of the travel may occur. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the tour price or entitle you to any credit or refund.
Uncharted Sichuan reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure, including a previously booked trip, due to reasons outside its control (i.e. natural disasters or political instability). In the unlikely event of unforeseen circumstances caused by civil unrest, terrorism, natural disaster or other unexpected events, either party may cancel the trip.
If such cases occur 60 days before trip departure, we will refund clients in full. If such cases occur within 60 days of departure, we will refund clients in full, less the deposit and any expenses incurred to date that are directly related to the preparation of the trip. Such expenses may include survey trips conducted specifically for the trip, as well as a service charge of 10% of the total trip cost to cover general overhead expenses incurred in relation to the trip.

Having a personal advocate adds much value and convenience to you, the traveler. Our travel designers provide a safety net, save you time, and often save you money.
The tailor-made service charge covers two services provided by the Uncharted Sichuan Tailor-made.
First, for making a transaction, whether it is booking an airline ticket, rail, car, hotel, package or cruise. This fee compensates bookings with low (or no) commissions, so we can provide a service to you and still be compensated for our time.
Second, for researching or planning a trip—using our travel expertise in different specialties and destinations. It takes to learn your travel preferences, research and plan a great trip for you.
The tailor-made service charge varies depending on the scope of requests and the work involved in the request, ranging from $50/day to $200/day. The fee is charged upfront before the trip planning starts and applies to the entire booking afterward, covering all persons sharing the same itinerary booked on one invoice.
If you book with us, we keep 50% of the fee for administrative costs and the other half is applied to your final payment. If you choose not to book with us, then we shall keep the whole fee as compensation for our time spent researching and planning your vacation.
A deposit of 30% of the total price per group in U.S dollar is required when booking to confirm a reservation, unless the reservation is made 60 days or less prior to trip commencement, in which case full payment is required.
Full payment shall be due 60 days prior to trip commencement date in U.S. dollar and received in our office prior to the date set forth in the Trip Proposal or the trip will be deemed canceled by you.
For both the deposit and full payment, we suggest paying by wire transfer. Complete bank details will be provided by your travel designer. Once the full payment is made, we'll help you start preparing for your trip step by step.
Failure to strictly comply with the deposit and final payment schedules, or any other applicable policies and procedures, will result in the cancellation of pending reservations and applicable fees will be assessed.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
In the case of trip cancellation, please refer to the schedule below:
90 days or more prior to trip commencement- 100% of deposit refund
Between 90 - 60 days prior to trip commencement- 50% of deposit will be forfeited
Fewer than 60 days to trip commencement - Loss of deposit
Between 59 - 45 days prior to trip commencement - 30% of total tour price will be forfeited
Between 44 - 21 days prior to trip commencement - 50% of total tour price will be forfeited
Fewer than 20 days prior to trip commencement - no refund
No refund will be made if a client voluntarily leaves a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. If clients are involuntarily required to leave a trip, a refund may be issued at Uncharted Sichuan’s discretion.
By participating in an Uncharted Sichuan itinerary, you consent to having your name, face, likeness, voice and/or appearance captured in any photographs and videotapes (or portions thereof) in any format, including, but not limited to, print, digital or film media now existing or hereafter developed, and you further acknowledge and agree that such photographs and videotapes (or portions thereof) may be shared with other participants during the tour.
Uncharted Sichuan and our service providers may use information that we collect from and about you for a variety of business purposes, including:
to enable you to use our services, to create an account or profile, to process the information you provide via our services (including verifying that your email address is active and valid) and to process your transactions;
to provide related customer service and care, including responding to your questions, complaints, or comments and sending surveys (with your consent) and processing survey responses;
to provide you with information, products, or services that you have requested;
with your consent, to provide you with information, products, or services that we otherwise believe will interest you;
to tailor content, recommendations, and advertisements we and third parties display to you, both on this site and elsewhere online;
for internal business purposes, such as to improve our services;
to contact you with administrative communications and, in our discretion, changes to our policies in all aspects;
to comply with regulatory and legal obligations;
